Beverley GrammerBeverley Grammer
Beverley Grammer is Managing Director and owner of up2date consultancy service and online community. She comes from Ohope Beach in New Zealand's beautiful Bay of Plenty, a.k.a. Paradise. Bev has live experience of disability and has worked in the sector in a number of roles over the past ten years. Bev worked as the Information, Advocacy, Equipment Services Manager at the Disabilities Resource Centre Trust in Whakatane for 3 1/2 years before expanding her horizons. She went on to develop and facilitate disability awareness workshops for businesses, community groups and corporate bodies. One of these was the Ministry of Health where Bev facilitated disability responsiveness workshops to Needs Assessment Service Co-ordination staff nationwide. Bev now contracts to a number of agencies to provide ongoing training for staff and consumers and to undertake client satisfaction investigations and feedback projects. Bev also holds position of Chairperson on The Office for Disability Issues Advisory Council, Disabled Persons Assembly National Executive Committee Member, Health and Disability Commission Advisory Council Member, Lotteries Commission Committee Member, Total Mobility Management Committee Member, Director of Access Ability Ltd, Standards Plus, Voice Advocacy Board, BOP District Health Board DSAC Member and in her spare time gives of her time to local service club the Ohope Beach Lions Club as their Bulletin Editor. Bev is passionate about disabled people and their families having access to information and resources that enable them to manage their own lives and participate fully in the community. Apart from her work in the sector Bev lives for her family and friends and her greatest pride comes from being "Aunty Bev". |
