Outward Bound runs courses for young people and people with disabilities, which teach them all sorts of essential life skills. Outward Bound also have a large number of programmes tailored for people with disabilities.
Learning through Experience
Learning by experience is the foundation of all Outward Bound courses – in other words, you will learn by doing! You will learn more about yourself and others from challenge, success and failure, self reflection and feedback. All activities are carefully designed to promote learning that can be transferred back to home and work.
Adventure and Challenge
Outward Bound courses are based on real adventure. You will be impelled into experiences that are physically, mentally and emotionally challenging.
We will push your limits, take you outside your comfort zone and help you conquer your fears!
Physical Activities in the Outdoors
All activities involve situations where there are real consequences. Our highly skilled instructors will deliver the course which will include some of the activities below. You don’t need previous outdoors experience to participate on our courses, which can include activities such as:

Safe and Supportive
Outward Bound is absolutely committed to health and safety and to ensuring that course participants are physically and emotionally safe. We have rigorous and comprehensive safety systems and practices. This includes meeting and exceeding industry ‘best practice’ through regular external audits by independent experts and Outward Bound International. Our Safety Policy is overseen by an independent External Safety Committee.
Integral to safety are our instructors. We select only the best in the business – a combination of their skill, experience and ability with people. All our courses have at least two instructors assigned to them.
