This is a fantastic motel with a number of accessible units with various configurations. Unit 10 had a double bed and a sofa bed. A wet area shower with sliding shower-head and rails, toilet with rails. Standard kitchen with good dining table.

Unit 9 is a two bedroom unit which sleeps 5 people. 2 single beds in the living room and 1 double and 1 single bed in the bedroom. Dining and living room area is really spacious however bedroom is crampt and so singles in living room are the only accessible beds. It has a Standard kitchen, and great dining table. Bathroom has toilet and shower with rails also a spa bath for those who can manage it. Wet area shower has sliding shower head but shower chair is only a plastic garden chair.

They do breakfast in rooms if you wish and a number of restaurants will also deliver meals. A few motels down the road one Motel also charges back their meals to the Sails if you wish to partake in their smorgasbord dining. The only caution is that this motels entrance with the smorgasbord has a 2 inch and a half step at the door which may not be doable for some people.

With minimal parking the best bet on arrival at the hotel if travelling in your own vehicle is to have it valet parked by the hotel staff, it cost $15 but the parking out the front is $10 a day so is more economical and safe.

Access to the rooms is by lift and we booked an accessible twin share room, unfortunately it wasn’t till we arrived that we were informed they don’t have any twin share rooms with access bathroom. This meant we had to request a rollaway bed or use the sofa bed which wasn’t an option. Unfortunately adding the extra bed made it difficult to get around in the room.

The bathroom is well laid out with wet area floor, sliding shower unit, and a fold out shower seat located near the large L shaped handrails. The toilet also has rails and is close to basin.

It is evident the hotel has attempted to be accessible, e.g. lowered phone booth and internet area in the lobby but they have since removed the phone so nice idea but not kept up.

The hotel has a restaurant and bar on site on the ground level or there are other restaurants in close walking distance from the hotel if wanting a change.

The Ibis rooms are always seriously tiny, so small in price and tight on space in terms of access rooms.
The bathroom however are good standard access bathrooms with all the right rails, toilet height, well placed basin and on wall shower seats and sliding shower head.

The dining facilities at this Ibis however are really well thought out.  The dining and bar area which is accessible by lift from rooms is open, light and has amazing views of the river.

There is underground parking at a cost or there is a number of mobility carparks outside the hotel.

The other great thing for us was it was really easy to walk to town from hotel, 5mins to shops, restaurants, and more.
