Employment Transitional Grant

Transistion into work...

Employment Transition Grant is a weekly payment which helps some people who have completed an Invalid’s Benefit employment trial.

You may get an Employment Transition Grant if you:

  • have completed an Invalid’s Benefit employment trial
  • can no longer get an Invalid’s Benefit
  • are earning less than the Invalid’s Benefit after completing the trial
  • regularly work 15 hours or more per week (not in sheltered employment) but you can’t carry on working these hours without the grant.
  • It also depends on how much you and your spouse or partner earn.

How to apply

Contact Work and Income in your area to talk about your circumstances and they’ll explain how to apply. They’ll normally arrange a meeting with you and will tell you what you need to bring.
